When I first started seriously exploring voice over as a possible career, I soon realized I needed a coach. After perusing websites, books, blogs, and podcasts about voice over, one name repeatedly seemed to come up: Anne Ganguzza. So I reached out, and as soon as we connected on the phone, I knew Anne was the coach for me. Not only do we both have backgrounds as educators, but we have similar senses of humor that make our coaching sessions so much fun. I coached with Anne for a little over a year and produced my E-Learning, Medical, and Corporate Demos with her and audio engineer John. Then I took a break from coaching, but when I got the itch (and saved up some money!) to produce a Commercial Demo, there was no one else I was going to turn to other than Anne. So, I signed up for more coaching and just received my professional Commercial Demo. I am absolutely, completely, totally, head-over-heels in love with it! My other demos were fantastic, don't get me wrong. I love them too! But this Commercial Demo is perfect. It captures my humor, my voice, and my style 100%. Anne and John (the audio engineer) absolutely nailed it on this one, and I couldn't be more thankful! If you are new to voice over and looking for a coach, don't hesitate to contact Anne. I just want to reiterate how much I love the demo - I've listened to it just about a kazillion times already! Throughout every step of the demo process from initial coaching to the actual recording session, it was clear Anne had incredible attention to detail. Everyone I talked to said Anne was the go-to person if I wanted to make a killer eLearning demo. I heard good things about her teaching style and cautionary tales about the amount of homework, but the area where Anne shined the most, in my opinion, was when it came to directing the demo session. I don't do a lot of directed sessions, but Anne and her engineer were on it making the hero takes for my demo as we went and giving good feedback and direction throughout the process. I could tell she was listening with a critical ear and trying to put together the best takes possible for my voice. If I wasn't sure about something we tried it again. By the end of our session, I was feeling excited about how each spot sounded, my range, the overall pacing, and the variety of reads we'd been able to capture. The final result? I love my eLearning demo! I feel like it captures the real quality of my skill and authentic voice while also highlighting a bit of my personality. I know I'm going to book with this and I feel like a better prepared actor when approaching eLearning scripts.

Working with Anne is amazing. She knows the industry and what is current, and gives you the tools to look and learn that as well. We worked on commercials of all types, not just to find out what I could do but also to see where I needed to improve. Her coaching gave me all sorts of tools to be able to take on copy that just flows and copy that seems a little...non conversational for a conversational read. She pushed me hard and taught me lots. And, even though I went in because "you gotta be able to do commercial copy, ugh" at the end I'm actually excited to do commercials and find the character and heart of the words and bring them to life.
