I wanted to reach out to thank you for last night's workshop. I knew nothing about medical narration voice over until this class and I am so happy I jumped in with you. You have such a vast knowledge and enthusiasm that was really fun to be around. And thank you for de-mystifying how it all works and the stress that comes with pronunciations and such. For my first professionally produced demo I hired Anne. I worked extremely hard through the homework and coaching. Anne was tough but supportive. When my demo was completed I was blown away by where Anne was able to get my voice! I worked with Anne to make my commercial demo and she brought out sounds that felt very natural for me, but I had never considered. One of my favorite spots on the demo was an inspirational commercial for Arrowhead. Just today, I booked a commercial based solely on that spot on my demo, no custom audition needed! Working with Anne is amazing. She knows the industry and what is current, and gives you the tools to look and learn that as well. We worked on commercials of all types, not just to find out what I could do but also to see where I needed to improve. Her coaching gave me all sorts of tools to be able to take on copy that just flows and copy that seems a little...non conversational for a conversational read. She pushed me hard and taught me lots. And, even though I went in because "you gotta be able to do commercial copy, ugh" at the end I'm actually excited to do commercials and find the character and heart of the words and bring them to life. That was the journey and the end result was amazing - I love how she captured my range and my quirkiness and also my serious side and my inner mom.
