Time to Boost End-of-Year Client Connections!
With just weeks left in the year, now is the perfect time to reconnect with clients in a meaningful way. Instead of letting the year slip away, take this opportunity to show appreciation, strengthen relationships, and set the stage for future collaborations. Small, thoughtful gestures can make a lasting impact, fostering loyalty and reinforcing the human connection in business. Let’s explore creative ways to connect before the year ends.
I’m So Emotional
Now is the perfect time to connect. Everyone has shared a unique experience this year, and that common ground creates an opportunity for deeper, more meaningful interactions. Clients aren’t just looking for business partners—they’re looking for human connections. Let’s talk about how to create an impactful end-of-year message that resonates.
We all know that staying top of mind with clients is key to business success, and the end of the year is no exception. In fact, it may be the most important time to reach out.
According to a Harvard Business Review study, emotionally engaged customers are:
Three times more likely to recommend your services
Three times more likely to repurchase
Less likely to shop around (44% rarely or never do)
Much less price-sensitive (33% said it would take a 20%+ discount to make them switch)
With that in mind, start by reviewing your client list. Whether it’s five clients or fifty, celebrate your wins and show gratitude for the business they’ve given you.
In past years, I’ve sent professional holiday cards with a generic “Happy Holidays” message. This year, that personal touch is more important than ever. A handwritten note can create a lasting emotional connection. And here’s a tip: don’t turn this into a marketing opportunity. Nothing feels less personal than an end-of-year message that doubles as an ad. Keep it genuine.
Person to Person or Station to Station
Instead of thinking of your outreach as a “B2B” interaction, shift to a human-to-human approach. As voice actors, we already create an intimate connection with audiences—why not extend that same authenticity to our clients?
Consider going beyond standard business greetings. Wish them well personally and acknowledge their family (even their four-legged members!). If a client has mentioned a hobby like painting, a thoughtful gift might be a high-quality paintbrush and a handwritten note. Small, meaningful gifts resonate far more than generic corporate swag.
I Just Called to Say…
After a year filled with Zoom meetings, webinars, and endless emails, sometimes the most impactful way to connect is the old-fashioned way—a phone call.
A quick check-in can validate new clients, strengthen existing relationships, and convey warmth and appreciation in a way email never could. And if they don’t answer? A short, heartfelt voicemail can leave a lasting impression. No pitch, no sales talk—just a simple “thank you” for a great year.
Swipe Left, or… Do Your Research

Before reaching out, take a few minutes to research your client’s latest updates. Check their website, social media, and blog posts for insights. What projects are they working on? Do they support a community cause? A donation in their name could be a thoughtful gift.
Understanding their current focus creates an opportunity for a personalized, memorable connection that stands out from the usual holiday clutter.
Don't Wait Until the Last Minute
Whatever you decide, don’t wait until the last minute. Beat the holiday rush and surprise your clients with an unexpected, heartfelt message before their inbox is flooded. Think about the feeling you get when you receive a thoughtful, unexpected gift. That’s what you’re aiming for. Strengthening emotional connections builds trust, reliability, and ultimately, loyalty. So get creative, take action, and make this year’s client outreach one they’ll remember.
