I am *so* excited about this Simply Amazing 2010 project! Fact is, I've never done anything quite like it, and it's such a joy on so many levels. May I tell you again, just how much I ♥ the gals over at House of 3!!! The Simply Amazing digital kit was one of their product launches for the New Year, and what a fabulous kit it is! So much digi goodness to choose from to create your very own Goal book for the year. SO perfect for me for this year, since I am so determined to make it a great one for my VO business at annespeak.com - I was able to incorporate two of my favorite passions - scrapbooking and voice overs! It just doesn't get any better than that!!!
I try to incorporate a new technique into every creative project I do - and this one is no exception. I started off the project by re-purposing an old hard cover book. (How green am I? - I love it!) :) Janet Hopkins has some great step by step instructions for re-purposing hard cover books that she calls "Junk Binders". My hardcover book measured 9.5" x 6.25" and it was super simple to gut and cover. I had a problem finding a separate binder mechanism that would fit the inside of the book, so I ended up ordering two of them from Janet's etsy shop, knowing that I wouldn't be able to stop at just one book!!! :) I also just found binder mechanisms at Small Box Hardware - looks like I'll have to bookmark that site for sure! :) The whole process was so much simpler than I thought it would be. And the coolest tip by Janet was to buy the d-ring or strap picture hanger (which I picked up at Michael's) to put on the spine of the book to hang all sorts of bling, jewels, and pretty charms. LOVE it! For the spine of the book, I used Lineco Spine Repair tape to give it a more professional look - I wish I could find it in a little wider width because I had to do multiple strips to cover front, spine, and back of the book.
Another technique that I found to be really useful for this project was printing my pages double sided. Such a simple concept - just flip your printed page over and run it through your printer again! Of course, why had I never thought of that before? It essentially gives you the digital equivalent of double sided scrapbook paper! And the paper and background designs in the Simply Amazing kit are just to die for!!!
There are seven different sections of the book Each section is separated by a tabbed file folder with the title and decorated with the appropriate bling! :) The sections are:

- Goals - These are my documented goals for the year - I have my 2010 Top Ten Goals in this section
- Daily - This section includes a monthly calendar to mark daily events on, as well as a special pocket page to hold all of my "audition cards" for the week. One of my goals is to audition or bid on 10 voice over jobs a week, and I am proud to say that I have done extremely well on this one! I keep track of all of my auditions and bid proposals in an Access database, and I print out weekly reports on 8.5 x11" paper which I then cut into index card size. These are then placed in the pocket page for reference all year.
- Life - This is the section where I can journal(see pic to the right) about all the things I am grateful for in my life. It's a great feeling to write them down, and I feel it makes me even more appreciative and blessed!
- Quotes - This was an especially fun section where I scrapped all of my favorite different inspirational quotes - and included them with photos that also inspire me, including pics of family and friends. The majority of my inspirational quotes came from Rhonna Farrer's 21 Day Challenge - I just loved that project and collected all 21 days worth of quotes and png files. I then made these into brushes in PSE and just had a field day using them on my photos and making them into embellishments!!! I also pulled quotes and graphics from the Inspiration Digital Kit over at House of 3. What is so awesome is that I was able to pull from all of these different kits from House of 3 - It's like digital interchangeable parts! :)

- Health - this is a section dedicated to one of my 2010 goals for health - to lose weight and continue to eat as healthy and pure as I can. I can only tell you that eating healthy and pure really helps my digestive system - especially as I age! In this section I have a pocket page that hold my menus for the Belly Fat Cure Diet by Jorge Cruise - LOVE it! It basically limits my sugar to 15 g/day and 6 servings of carbs - and so far, it is really working for me!
- Creative - this section holds all of my creative ideas - projects and techniques to try, etc. It is very similar to an art or inspiration journal, and has pictures and memorabilia of things to jump start my creativity. I have photos of my favorite scrapbooking idols - Tim Holtz, Donna Downey, and Irene Tan. I also took Rhonna Farrer's online creative workshop and printed out her 100 creativty exercises which are so incredibly awesome - HIGHLY recommended.
- Accomplishments - This is a separate book insert from Simply Amazing #2 that fits into an envelope insert on the front cover of the book - here I can list out my accomplishments as I go throughout the year. This is a great reminder of how well I have done, and also lets me know what I still need to work on.

I had so much fun embellishing the book with Heidi Swapp Bling, flowers, die cuts using my Nestabilities, Making Memories Clear Creations Scrolls, Bazzill Rub-ons & Rhinestones, and Doodlebug Paper frills!
The cool thing about this book is that it is so easy to add on throughout the year - the three ring binder makes this extremely convenient - I just have to remember not to bulk it up too much with embellishments! And scattered throughout the book are journalling pages where I can add thoughts progressively throughout the year. I am so excited to keep working on this project and it will be so much fun to look back after a few years to see how simply amazing the year 2010 was for me!
You really need to check out more photos of this project to get the full effect. To see the album in it's entirety, please check out my Design Gallery! Thanks so much for looking!
